General Manager for our new Wright's Barbecue location in Central Arkansas in Benton, Arkansas. Anticipated Summer 2026
The General Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of a Wright’s Barbecue store. This includes overseeing staff selection, development, and performance management, managing inventory and ordering, ensuring profitability, and delivering an exceptional guest experience. The General Manager serves as the primary leader for the store, ensuring operational excellence and compliance with company standards.
Major Responsibilities and Activities
Oversee and manage all areas of store operations; make final decisions on matters of importance.
Serve as the primary resource for all Toast/POS-related issues.
Lead and coach Assistant Managers to ensure personal and professional growth.
Manage shifts, including scheduling, planning, and maintaining standards of quality and cleanliness.
Assist with opening and closing duties as needed.
Ensure a safe working and guest environment; promptly complete accident reports when necessary.
Investigate and resolve complaints regarding food quality and service.
Implement proper security procedures to protect employees, guests, and company assets.
Collaborate with leadership to achieve goals related to food costs, labor costs, operating expenses, sales, and profitability.
Ensure timely and accurate completion of financial and personnel/payroll administrative duties.
Adhere to company standards and service levels to increase sales and minimize costs.
Maintain consistent high-quality food preparation and service standards.
Uphold professional restaurant image, including cleanliness, uniforms, and appearance standards.
Estimate food and beverage costs; supervise portion control and minimize waste.
Respond to guest complaints and take appropriate actions to ensure satisfaction.
Ensure full compliance with HR policies and procedures for store employees.
Conduct orientation, oversee training, and provide ongoing feedback and performance reviews.
Maintain accurate staffing plans and prepare manager schedules one month in advance.
Represent Wright’s Barbecue in the local community through active involvement.
Perform additional duties as requested by the COO or Owners.
Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in restaurant management or multi-unit leadership.
Proven ability to manage staff, budgets, and operations in a high-volume environment.
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and operational best practices.
Strong leadership and team-building skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and POS systems (Toast experience preferred).
Financial acumen with experience in budgeting and cost control.
Self-motivated with a hands-on management approach.
Physical Requirements
Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
Frequent walking, standing, bending, and reaching in kitchen and dining environments.
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally.
Manual dexterity for operating POS systems and handling food service tools.
Visual acuity for monitoring food quality and reviewing documents.
